Newcomb Hotel

A five alarm fire destroys the Hotel Newcomb building. The first alarm came around 8:45 p.m. on Friday night. Several streets are closed off in the areat. Smoke and flames were visible from just east of Taylor on US 24 and much of northwest Quincy smells of smoke...

The top ten list of endangered historic places was announced today by Landmarks Illinois at a press conference held in Springfield and Quincy has one of the sites on the list.  That site is the historic Newcomb Hotel at 4th and Maine Streets in Quincy.
