John Tripp, My Best Friend, Passed Away Four Years Ago Today. ‘Miss Ya Buddy!’

Four years ago I lost my best friend and hundreds of others did likewise with the passing of John Tripp. I started to write a blog about John this morning, but I kept deleting what I was writing.  I finally decided that what I wrote last year still fits today so if what you read next sounds familiar, it is. I was fortunate enough to be able to play baseball for 24 years and even today I start to get the bug to oil up my glove and play some catch. Every January my friends would be into hockey and basketball but not me. It was time to think baseball. And so it is again as I prepare to head south in a few weeks to Spring Training in Florida.

Hey Cardinal Fans, It’s Only a Game!

I know you are all waiting to hear from me today regarding the collapse of my beloved New York Yankees. Yogi Berra said "it ain't over 'til it's over". Well, it's over. He also said "It's gettin' late early". Well it's past late. For those who think I am heading into depression, "forgetaboutit".
