Dangerous winter weather is the order of the day in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Advisory for most of the area from midnight Thursday night until noon Friday.

Frost Quakes occur when the moisture in the ground suddenly freezes and then expands.

It looks like 2021 is coming in like a lion in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

A new record high temperature was set in Hannibal Wednesday.

A storm spotter class will be offered at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 17 in the Alexander Campbell Auditorium in the Robert W. Brown Performing Arts Center on the Culver-Stockton College campus.

The temperatures were well above 90 degrees and you just knew we were going to get a storm later in the afternoon. You could feel it coming. We just had no idea just what kind of a storm it would turn out to be.

As a result, the Quincy Salvation Army will open the Kroc Center as a cooling center on days when heat advisories, like today, are issued for those who need to get out of the extreme heat.
