This is a great weekend in the Tri-States to teach children about how to fish and have fun. This weekend is Free Fishing Days, which means you don't have to have a license to fish. In Illinois and Iowa the dates are June 5 through June 8. In Missouri, Free Fishing Days are June 6 - 8.
It is the Quincy Park District's opening day today for miniature golf, paddle boating, disc golf, bike riding and the batting cage at the batting cage area of Moorman Park. The putters, the boats, the discs, the bikes and the bats will be ready for use beginning this afternoon at 3:30.
The first Christmas gift of 2015 for the area was announced this morning when the organizers of the annual Avenue of Lights in Quincy announced that the Quincy Exchange Club will be taking over the operations of the event on April 1st.
