The Hannibal Cavemen are once again hosting a series of fireworks nights following select games throughout the 2013 season. I love this time of year because of the Hannibal Jaycees. They know how to throw a party. National Tom Sawyer Days is one of my favorite places to be. From the National Fence Painting Contest to a Frog Jumping Contest to Live entertainment at Tanyard Gardens, there is always something to do in Hannibal!

Water has receded from U.S. 54 on the Illinois side of the Mississippi River at the Champ Clark Bridge, and IDOT and MoDOT crews opened the road to traffic just a few minutes ago. The bridge was closed last week due to flooding from the Mississippi River.
