On August 19th St. Louis Cardinal broadcaster legend Mike Shannon had heart valve replacement surgery in St. Louis and the hope was he could return to the broadcast booth before the end of the season.  Well, that hope will become a reality as Shannon will be behind the microphone tonight just 36 days after his surgery.

So here it was, Sunday afternoon and I was home watching the snow pile up and listening to the Cardinal game on KHMO from spring training in Jupiter, Florida.  How weird was that?  I'm shoveling my driveway while Mike Shannon was doing the play-by-play of the Cardinals-Mets game in 90 degree temperatures.
