As the song says "They say lights are brighter on Broadway." Well, several lights have gone from bright, to dimmer, to off, as six businesses on Broadway have closed their doors between 30th and 38th streets. In the last two years, that eight-block area of Quincy has lost Deb Shops, J.C. Penney, Radio Shack, Long John Silver's, TGI Fridays, and now Steak 'n Shake.
After weeks of construction, the New Panda Express is now open for business. The business, located in the Shopko parking lot on Broadway between 30th and 33rd Streets, opened Wednesday.
For the second time in four months a restaurant chain has closed up shop. This time it is Long John Silver's at 30th and Broadway, a business that has been in Quincy since the 1970's. This closing comes on the heels of TGI Friday's closing its doors in late May of this year.
