Katy Perry knows a thing or two, or four million, about success. The ‘Wide Awake’ singer, one of the best-selling artists of the modern era, is taking her experience, her wisdom and know how and distilling it into a new business endeavor: She is launching her own record label.
Katy Perry‘s autobiographical video for ‘Wide Awake’ leaked yesterday (June 18), featuring the singer shifting from light to dark, young to older, all the while navigating the maze of her crazy life over the past year, which includes her split from hubby Russell Brand. In a chat with MTV’s Sway at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, Perry summed up the song and the video effectively: “I have spoken my piece. I have gone on a long ride.”
It’s bad enough that the world had to suffer through Katy Perry’s super flat performance of ‘Wide Awake’ at the MuchMusic Video Awards last night (June 17), but now we have to read about the aftermath of her brilliant (read: not so brilliant) red carpet idea.
Russell who? Katy Perry hasn’t wasted any time diving back into the dating scene since her December 2011 split from actor/comedian Russell Brand, having dallied with French model Baptiste Giabiconi and then quickly moving on with Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd.
Neither romance appeared to be very serious, nor did they last. However, it looks like the ‘Wide Awake’ singer is back together with one of her post-Brand hook ups. So, which one is it?
