Prom and graduation season is upon us, and Illinois State Troopers will be watching to keep kids safe. Illinois State Police will be conducting high visibility patrols with aggressive enforcement of the Fatal Four Violations which are: DUI, Speeding, Seat Belt and Distracted Driving.
Illinois State Police District 20 Commander, Captain Robert Elliott announced that Trooper Matthew Poulter was selected as Illinois State Police District 20 Trooper of the Year and will represent District 20 as a candidate for the Illinois State Police Officer of the Year in Springfield.
Thanksgiving holiday marks the beginning of the busy holiday driving period,and continues through the New Year. Beginning Wednesday, November 26 through Sunday, November 30, officials expect high traffic on interstates and roads throughout the region. Thanksgiving Day, Thursday,November 27, is expected to be the busiest.
