The 4th of July is my favorite holiday. Celebrating America, BBQ's with friends and family, swimming, and of course fireworks. There are several places with watch fireworks this year, so we asked where is the best place to watch a fireworks show?

In a few weeks, we will be celebrating America's birthday with BBQs, pool parties, and fireworks at night. If you are planning to celebrate with fireworks in Illinois, there are some laws you should be aware of.

That series of loud bangs that shook Quincy around 10:00 pm Saturday night is not what you think.

They will be scared and they won’t be able to tell you so please be aware that dogs maybe as faithful as you are to your country, but they are petrified of fireworks.  So on this Fourth of July please keep them in mind and provide them a secure place away from the noise of fireworks going off.

American's love their fireworks but there are laws regarding the use of fireworks. With that in mind, the Quincy Police Department has released the following information to the public.

Independence Day is Saturday, July 4, 2015. There will be several fireworks displays in the area in the days leading up to, during, and following the Fourth of July weekend.
