Cook's Night Off

Hunger and isolation across America is a reality and Adams County is no exception. Nearly 10-million people struggle each day with hunger and some 15 million people, according to the Meals on Wheels America website, live in isolation.  With the senior population expected to double by the year 2050, this problem will only escalate.

The Meals on Wheels program, like many other service programs, has had to make cuts in the last several months due to lack of funding. It is with that in mind that they hold a monthly opportunity for people in  the area called "Cook's Night Off".

Meals on Wheels has an event coming up on Thursday, December 18, 2014.

It was inevitable. The Meals Plus for Seniors Program is in dire financial condition. The organization has already made cuts in the past and now they are facing additional moves to save money including no food deliveries to the elderly on weekends.
