The City of Quincy 175th Anniversary Committee in partnership with the Rotary Club of Quincy will be hosting the Bayview Bridge Lighting Celebration on Saturday, August 22. The event at Clat Adams Park will begin at 3:00 p.m. and go until midnight.

The 18 Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held at Clat Adams Park on Thursday, September 3 in Quincy. This year's goal for the fundraiser is $70,000. The money is raised by the many individuals and businesses who donate to the cause. One such business is the Butcher Block, where they will be holding their annual Alzheimer's Cookout today from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This Saturday night, fireworks displays will be seen by millions around this great country of ours including the Hannibal-Quincy area. In Hannibal it will be held on the riverfront and in Quincy the display will take place at the Illinois Veteran’s Home grounds.

With the combination of it being Dogwood Festival weekend and the City of Quincy celebrating it's 175th Anniversary as a charter city, there will be plenty of music to enjoy. The music will be flowing at the Washington Theatre and on Maine Street in Quincy.

The streets of Quincy will be filled with the sound of music as part of The Dogwood Anniversary Bash will be held on Saturday, May 2, and Sunday, May 3.

There was a rousing kickoff for The City of Quincy’s 175th anniversary that even included the Quincy Senior High School’s Drum Corps who paraded around the Oakley-Lindsay Center. To celebrate the city’s 175th birthday, a committee, selected by Mayor Kyle Moore, has prepared a year long list of events.

The 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held on Thursday, September 4 at Clat Adams Park. There is still time to put together a team of walkers to be a part of the event that day. Leading up to the actual walk are several fundraising events, including a cookout this Thursday at The Butcher Block at 819 Maine Street.

Great news for ice skaters around the Quincy area, River Skate opens on November 6.

The Quincy Riverfront will be buzzing through Saturday beginning tonight with the 17th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer's at Clat Adams Park. Then Friday and Saturday the Quincy Exchange Club's 7th Annual Smoke on the River BBQ event will be held at Kesler Park and The Dock.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's is coming up on Thursday, September 5 at Clat Adams Park in Quincy. Over the years this event has become very well attended and with that boom in participation comes the need for volunteers to make the event happen.
