In January of 2013 the Quincy Park District announced that their new park on Bonansinga Drive would be known as Lincoln Park. The Park District had asked the public to submit names to be considered and you can’t go wrong with the name of Lincoln. I had submitted the name of Elvin Tappe. So Elvin lost out to Lincoln, but so did Steven Douglas.

For some 90 years the Chicago Cubs games have been heard on WGN Radio in Chicago, but that will all come to an end when the last out of the 2014 season is made. The Chicago Cubs, according to the Chicago Tribune sources, have signed a long term contract with CBS owned WBBM radio to broadcast Cub’s baseball beginning next season.

Last week the Chicago Cubs celebrated the 100th anniversary of Wrigley Field and did so in style. There were all kinds of activities associated with the birthday including a cake that was a replica of Wrigley Field. The 400 pound cake  was made at Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey.
