Season 12 of ‘American Idol‘ will see some big changes, and we’re not just talking about the addition of super diva Mariah Carey to the judge’s panel. There will be three new ways for hopefuls to audition this season, which kicks off in early 2013.

Mariah Carey has officially joined ‘American Idol‘ as a judge for Season 12, which kicks off in 2013. Congrats not only to Carey but to Fox on this major, major coup. While it seemed that producers had a challenge on their hands in trying to find a suitable A-list replacement for the departing Jennifer Lopez, they outdiva-ed the diva with this addition.

Rumors of Jennifer Lopez supposedly leaving ‘American Idol‘ flooded every kind of news wave imaginable. Yet Aerosmith frontman and ‘Idol’ judge Steven Tyler was the first to announce his exit from the reality show competition.
