Former Quincy Gem’s ambidextrous pitcher Pat Venditte has been called up to the Oakland A’s from Triple-A Nashville. Venditte, who played for the Quincy Gems in the Central Illinois Collegiate League in 2006, will be in uniform when the A’s meet the Boston Red Sox tonight.
The Major League Baseball season begins this Sunday as the St. Louis Cardinals meet the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field.
