Thirty three years ago today the excitement level for five “young” people was at a peak as WQCY radio was about to change the music format from soft-easy listening to Top-40 and become 99-Q Radio. Those five people were Dennis Oliver, Reggie Coleman, Dave Norman, Liz Lukowski and me (Jeff Dorsey).
It was a morning in 1986 when I was working at 99-Q Radio with Dennis Oliver. He was just finishing up his morning show and I was beginning my mid-day stint (after working the morning show on WTAD earlier that morning). It was about a week before St. Patrick’s Day and I went up to D.O. and said we need to have a St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Quincy.
