State Wide Severe Weather Drill for Illinois and Missouri to be Held Today
The annual Illinois and Missouri National Weather Service Severe Weather Drill is scheduled for today, March 3, 2015, but at different times in each state. The Illinois state-wide test will take place at 10 a.m. CST and the Missouri state-wide test will be held at 1:30 p.m. CST.
Severe weather storm sirens will sound at those times. These tests will give authorities the opportunity to make sure the sirens in Illinois and Missouri are in working order.
The drill also offers an opportunity for everyone, including schools, businesses, hospitals, and people in their homes, to test their severe weather plans.
