The Quincy Exchange Club is hosting Smoke on the River this Friday and Saturday at Kesler Park and The Dock.  Here are some FAQ's about the event:

Is there a cost to attend?  

No. It is free to walk around, but if you would like to eat some of the best BBQ around you can purchase it while you are there. Beverages are also available for purchase.

Is it a kid friendly event?

Yes. Especially on Saturday when the Kids Zone will be open for children at no cost.

What are the hours for Smoke on the River?

Friday's hours are from 4pm to 11pm and Saturday's hours are from 10 to 4.

Can I buy BBQ cooked by the "pit masters"?  

BBQ food will be available for sale from various vendors who will be set up at the event. On Friday several of the "pit masters" will be cooking BBQ Ribs which will be auctioned off at different times Friday night to benefit the Exchange Club

How many years has this event been held in Quincy? 

This year will be the 7th year.

How many "pit masters" will be there cooking?   35 have committed to being there.

Where is Kesler Park?  

Kesler Park is located adjacent to The Dock on Bonansinga Drive on the Riverfront of Quincy. Take Broadway west to the bridge. At the bridge follow the "Riverfront" sign. Cross the railroad tracks and turn right. It will be on the left (follow your nose).

What bands are playing?  

Dave Chastain's DC3 Blues Band from Peoria will be performing on The Dock stage Friday from 7 to 11 pm and the Well Hungarians will be on the same stage Saturday from 8 to Midnight.  There is a $5 cover charge each night.

When will the awards ceremony be held?  

Although the times vary a little it usually takes place around 3:30 to 4 pm Saturday afternoon.
