It was just about a year ago when Ryan Hutmacher won the 'Search for the Weight Watchers Chef' competition on the ABC television series 'The Chew.' The Quincy native will be returning home to conduct a special program, "Healthy Cooking For Life," at the Kroc Center on February 21.

Angie Duerr with the Kroc Center says that they are looking forward to the upcoming event: "He's going to give you a lot of tips on healthy cooking, he's going to share about Weight Watchers...I think he's going to have a lot of really good ideas, and he's a really dynamic speaker, so we're really excited to have him."

Tickets to Hutmacher's presentation are only $5 for Kroc Center members and $10 for non-members. Space is limited. Those interested in purchasing tickets can do so at the Salvation Army Kroc Center at 405 Vermont in Quincy. The program will begin at 10 a.m. Blessing Hospital will also be holding a health fair in the Kroc Center entryway during the event.

As the winner of the 'Search For the Weight Watchers Chef,' Hutmacher earned a $75,000 grand prize and a one-year consulting contract with Weight Watchers. He is the co-founder of Centered Chef in Chicago, “a unique culinary studio focused on integrating clean eating experiences into social and educational platforms.”
