River City Dirtbags Baseball Hosting Tryouts August 24

Your child might just be an MLB superstar in 10-15 years. But you have to start them young. River City Dirtbags baseball is giving you the opportunity to do just that.

River City Sports Academy, under the direction of Mike Giles, is hosting baseball tryouts for the 2014 season on Saturday, August 24, at Boots Bush Park, 42nd & Maine, in Quincy. Dirtbag teams have won six World Series titles, have had four state champions and 12 teams that finished in the top three at the USSSA and GMB World Series in just two years.

Players wishing to participate in tryouts must pre-register by emailing the players' name, phone number and date of birth to dirtbagbaseball2014@yahoo.com. Here are the times and age groups:

(Note: 7U stands for under, 7U means 7 and under)

• 7U and 8U -- 8:00-9:30
• 9U and 10U -- 9:30-11:00
• 11U and 12U -- 11:00-12:30
• 13U and 14U -- 12:30-2:00
• 15U -- 2:00-3:00
