Traditionally, weekends are huge for retailers during the Christmas shopping season so the more weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas the better for their business. Unfortunately, this year with Thanksgiving falling late in November, there will be one less weekend of shopping.

Instead of five weekends there will only be four shopping weekends this year. Now that may not seem like a big difference but it is 20% of weekend sales that needs to be made up in the four weekends between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

So look for some great bargains out there in those four weekends to help make up the difference in what is usually a five weekend Christmas shopping season.
