For the American Red Cross, January is National Blood Donor Month.

The American Red Cross invites those who are eligible to join the millions of blood donors across the country in helping ensure a stable blood supply for patients in need. January can be a difficult month to collect donations due to bad weather and seasonal illnesses.

The Red Cross engourages eligible donors to make an appointment to give during National Blood Donor Month. Some upcoming blood drives coming up include:

  • January 2, 2014 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the American Red Cross Quincy at 3000 North 23rd
  • January 2, 2014 from  2 to 6 p.m. at St. Thomas Hall, 103 East Spring in Camp Point Illinois.
