After a nice beginning to spring, the first full week of the new season is expected to be a rainy and cool one.

National Weather Service forecasters say the first part of the week will be a rainy one. The chance of rain for the area begins Monday morning, with the best chance of rain Monday night through Tuesday night. A lingering chance of precip is in the forecast through Wednesday night.

Thunderstorms are also a possibility this week. Isolated storms could pop up Monday, with the best chance of thunderstorms in the area coming late Monday night. The possibility for storms continues through Wednesday evening.

High temperatures will run the gamut this week. Highs will start out around 50 Monday, rising to the mid 50s Tuesday and the mid 60s Wednesday. Temperatures will slide into the 40s for highs Thursday through Saturday before wrapping up the weekend around 60 on Palm Sunday.

Aside from a low in the mid 40s Tuesday night and the mid 20s Friday night, lows for the week will be in the 30s.
