Quincy University pitcher Graham Spraker has been selected by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 31st Round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Wednesday.

Spraker, who hails from Tuscon, Arizona was the 939th overall pick and joins fellow Hawk David Jacob in the Toronto organization (currently with the Class A Vancouver Canadians).

As a member of Quincy University’s first ever World Series-bound baseball team, Spraker finished the season with a record of 7-5 and a 2.44 ERA. He struck out 80 in 88 2/3 innings of work. He was even better in the postseason, finishing 2-0 in four starts with an ERA of 1.35.

Spraker finished his collegiate career with 22 wins—third in program history. He is also second in innings pitched (281 1/3) and strikeouts (211) and fourth in ERA (3.20).
