I know it's not "festival season" in the cotton candy, funnel cake, lemon shake-up, BBQ sense. But there are plenty of amazing winter festivals to check out too. And one of them right here in the Gem City was just named the best in the state!

In an effort to get Illinoisans off the couch and overall less mopey during the winter months, Onlyinyourstate.com has put together a list of the top wants to make sure that you are having fun during the Winter months, the put a list together of the nine best winter festivals in the state. And wouldn't you know it? Our very own Great River Eagle Days took the top spot!

Drawing fans from all over the region, this weekend offers attendees the chance to view bald eagles in the wild as well as learn more about the birds and celebrate Native American Traditions.
