The Quincy Salvation Army continues to give even with their own celebration of 125 years in Quincy. The Salvation Army Family Services and Shelter will host a block party Monday, August 20, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. as a continued celebration of The Quincy Salvation Army’s 125th Anniversary. Everyone is welcomed to attend the block party which will be located at 5th Street and Broadway between The Salvation Army Family Store and Family Services. This event is also free to attend. “It’s great to bring everyone together under positive circumstances and bond with the community that we strive to serve every day,” stated Social Services Director Heidi Welty.

If you love hot dogs and ice cream then this is the event to attend. In addition to serving food, family-friendly games such as a ring toss, bubble blowing contest, and cake walk will be available. Live entertainment will be provided by Kayla Obert and Salvation Army Aux. Captains Mika and Grace Roinila.

While all that is going on, The Family Store will feature a sidewalk sale. So bring your entire family, lawn chairs, and plan on having a fun-filled evening Monday night.
