Quincy Public Library will observe new hours, beginning Monday, January 4, 2016. The library will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to  5 p.m., and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.

“In order to be responsive to patron requests for later hours and Sunday hours,” said library director Nancy Dolan, “QPL is adjusting its schedule to better fit the needs of the community.”

Q.P.L., in the face of budget cuts by the state and the city, chose last summer to reduce open hours in order to work within the funds available for its operation. The current schedule change does not add hours back in to the schedule. It does alter the hours to fit with the times requested by community members to use the facility.

Quincy Public Library is striving to make services available to meet community needs and requests. QPL has recently added more access to digital library services, with the inclusion of Flipster digital magazines and Hoopla Digital for music, movies, and audiobooks. Browsing eBooks is easier than ever with the addition of the Overdrive Media Station, available 24/7 at County Market at 48th and Broadway.

Digital services are also available on your computer or device at quincylibrary.org. A Q.P.L. library card is required for access to some services.
