All the hugging, kissing and well wishing on New Year's Eve for a great 2013 just hasn't made it happen in Quincy.  The first three days of the new year have kept the Fire Department and Police Department hopping. In three days we have had 2 apparent murders and two very bad fires as well. This, on the heels of a late 2012 bank robbery where the suspect is still at large. What going on here?

Good question. Neighbors at the 11th Street murder shooting are saying they thought the house involved was a drug house with people coming and going all the time. Police are still looking for the Vincent B. Carter, the alleged shooter involved. In another incident, fire officials have turned over the investigation of the Maiden Lane fire and death to the Police Department for an investigation with the thought being that the fire might have been set by someone.

This city is not accustomed to this kind of crime activity and especially in such a short period of time.  Lets hope the rest of the year calms down. In the meantime, if you know any information regarding any of these crimes contact the Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers Hotline at 228-4474 or go to www.quincycrimestoppers.com. You will NOT have to give your name and you may be eligible for a reward for the information you provide.
