Monday will mark three weeks since the massive storm ripped through the Quincy area bringing down thousands of trees with it. The nearly 80 mile per hour winds caused all kinds of problems including loss of electricity, damage to homes and property plus remaining tree damage.  With all that, the city is working hard to clean up the debris left behind and re-establish normal operations. Unfortunately, one thing that is still not back to normal is garbage pickup.

According to a news release from the City of Quincy, household garbage pick up will only be at curbside in the City until further notice. Those residents who normally have alley pick up are asked to take their garbage to the street curbside until notified otherwise.

Crews are working as fast as they can to clear storm debris and the alleys will be addressed after all of the streets are cleared. Until that time, everyone is to take their garbage, recycle and yard waste to the street.
