Quincy Community Theatre is looking for friendly, energetic volunteers to attend its free summer training sessions. Training is available both for backstage and front-of-house, and includes:

  • Light Board Operation (May 12, 3-4PM), teaching volunteers to work on a professional light board, used in all QCT Main Stage performances!
  • Sound Board Operation (May 18, 2-5 PM), helping volunteers gain a working knowledge of QCT’s sound control board and audio vault, ultimately preparing them for sound operation!
  • Stage Management (May 15, 7-10 PM), preparing volunteers for the most elite job in a production: Stage Manager. This session includes information about rehearsal responsibilities, managing backstage, and calling a show.
  • Ushering/Box Office (June 4, 6-8 PM), allowing volunteers to join the ranks of QCT’s dedicated ushers and box officers. Participants will learn to process tickets with the theatre’s ProVenue ticketing system, maintain reservations, quickly read tickets, and to show patrons to their seats.

Individuals already trained in these areas are encouraged to contact the QCT Box Office to volunteer for upcoming productions, including 'The Rainmaker' (May 2-11). All volunteers will receive theatre punch cards, exchangeable for a free ticket to a production of their choice after ten punches.

For registration or more information, interested individuals should contact the QCT Box Office at 217.222.3209.
