Hear ye! Hear ye! After scouring the countryside for the funniest performers alive, Quincy Community Theatre has assembled a magnificently uproarious cast for its colossal comedy crusade—MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT (March 19-22 & 27-29).

In the spirit of Monty Python, actors will appear in a variety of roles. Leading the company in this wildly hilarious musical is Bill Stalder as the legendary “King Arthur,” joined by Marci Keller as the gloriously grandiose diva “Lady of the Lake,” and Drew Quintero as Arthur’s faithful manservant “Patsy.” Also taking their seats at the round table are Michael Gash as “Lancelot/Tim the Enchanter,” Sage Mann as “Sir Robin/Brother Maynard,” Dick Rees as “Sir Bedevere/Concorde,” David Samuels as “Sir Galahad/The Black Knight,” and Sidney Shackleton as “Prince Herbert/Historian.” Completing the cast is the show’s brilliant ensemble, including Elizabeth Cepeda, Emily Dozier, Mason Ellison, Charlie Hayner, Mackenzie Herman, Ashley Kenady, Dominic Regner, Logan Reller, Emily Sniegowski, and Rodney Snyder.

This cast of 18 has traveled far and wide to join this particular quest, originating from the kingdoms of Quincy, IL; Barry, IL; Palmyra, MO; and Keokuk, IA. This, in conjunction with the many new faces that came to audition, serve as a testament to the overwhelming popularity of both this Tony® Award winner for Best Musical and its movie inspiration, the 1975 cult classic MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL.

“I have friends who can quote all of the movies in their entirety,” said Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen. “Monty Python has become a major part of our pop culture. Yet as someone who didn’t know the movies and the sketches very well, I still found the musical hilarious.”

And no wonder! This uproarious musical retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table on their quest for the Holy Grail in the signature style of Monty Python. From the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog to the Knights who say Ni, this spectacle of the stage lovingly rips off the most cherished jokes from the movie while adding a few zingers of its own. With infectious tunes and show-stopping musical numbers, SPAMALOT adds up to a wildly comical musical that “raises silliness to an art form” (The Sunday Times) and has been hailed as “a no-holds-barred smash hit” (The New Yorker).

MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT is under the direction of QCT’s Artistic Director Brandon Thomsen, with vocal direction by Jillian Wagner Miller, choreography by Cheryl Kaiser, conducting by Alan Kanauss, scenic design by Technical Director Paul Denckla, and costumes by resident designer Danielle Held. Donna Haire serves as the Stage Manager.

Tickets are $20, on sale February 23. For tickets or more information, visit 1qct.org or call the QCT Box Office, located in the Oakley-Lindsay Center, at (217) 222-3209.
