Quincy Community Theatre is currently accepting applications from students entering grades 5-College for its Triple Threat Boot Camp, August 3-8 from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with a special Showcase on August 8 at 7:30 p.m. All applications are due no later than Friday, July 3.

This special rock musical edition of the Triple Threat Boot Camp is intended for the serious performer. Featuring electrifying numbers from some of history’s greatest Broadway shows, this renowned camp focuses on instruction in the musical theatre disciplines: singing, dancing and acting.

In this intense, six-day workshop, students are divided into age-appropriate levels. The morning consists of specific training in the various areas; in the afternoon, students implement the skills learned during the day in a rehearsal setting for the end-of-camp presentation to be attended by family and friends.

Students enrolling in the camp must submit a hand-written letter explaining why they would enjoy being a part of the Triple Threat Boot Camp. Letters should be as specific as possible, including examples of why the student enjoys performing and past experiences with acting, singing, or dance. The registration form must be accompanied by this letter. For students new to QCT, please include the contact information of a non-relative to serve as a reference.

Submission of the registration form and letter does not automatically guarantee a place for the student in the camp. Families will be contacted by Friday, July 10 as to whether or not the child has been accepted into the camp. Payment is due upon the student’s acceptance into the camp, no later than Friday, July 24.

Scholarships are available for students requiring financial assistance, made possible by a grant from the Quincy Noon Kiwanis.

Tuition is $150 and includes a t-shirt and two complimentary tickets to the showcase. For more information about registering, scholarships, or information about other summer classes, visit 1qct.org or call the QCT Box Office at 217-222-3209.
