The 2013 QAYO consists of 45 talented musicians from across the tri-state area. Each of the members was selected for the orchestra based on an audition held in October.  The student musicians rehearse together weekly.  Their first performance was Feb. 10, side-by-side with the Quincy Symphony Orchestra.   The QAYO is partially supported by the Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association, Encore! Symphony Volunteer Council, the Samantha Otte Youth Opportunity Fund, the Tracy Family Foundation, the Marion Gardner Jackson Charitable Trust, and the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.

The Early Bird drawing for the 8th Annual Quincy Symphony Orchestra Association raffle will be held at the concert. The winner of this early drawing will receive $250, and will remain eligible for the $1000 grand prize drawing on April 13. Raffle tickets will be available at the concert for $10 each or 12 for $100.
