The Quincy Fire Department is now accepting registrations for their 2016 Spring Citizen's Fire Academy classes. The Academy will start on Tuesday, March 15 and will run for ten weeks, all on Tuesday nights, ending on May 17. The hours of each class will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will be held at the Quincy Regional Fire Training Center at 1900 Seminary Road. Class participants will wear firefighting gear and SCBA air packs, learn about fire behavior, learn search and rescue, use the jaws of life, rappel from four stories above the ground and much more.

The QFD will also accept those who are interested in watching and learning about what the fire department does but do not want to participate in the hands on portion of the classes.

To register for the spring Citizen's Fire Academy Class go to www.quincyil.gov or call 228-4459.
