QFD to Hold a Christmas Tree Fire Demonstration at Home Depot

The Quincy Fire Department along with Home Depot will be holding a demonstration this Saturday at 12 noon of the possible dangers of a Christmas tree fire.  That demonstration will be held on the Home Depot parking lot and will show the magnitude, danger and destruction of a live Christmas tree fire.

In the United States there are an average of 230 home fires that are caused by a fire involving the Christmas tree.  Those fires result in an average of 40 people dying every year as a result.

The Quincy Fire Department recommends that once the tree starts to drop its needles you should dispose of the tree. Saturday's demonstration at noon is a rescheduled event due to previous inclement weather.
