The No. 7-seed Hawks (18-22) and No. 2-seed Ramblers (19-7) are meeting for the fourth straight time in the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals. Loyola-Chicago has won the last three MIVA Tournament championships and the last two national championships.

Quincy nearly upset Loyola on Feb. 6 at Pepsi Arena, taking the Ramblers to five sets. The Hawks maintained a 2-1 lead heading into the fourth set, but the visitors won Set 4, 25-23 and Set 5, 15-6. Q.U. got 15 kills from senior Chris Chappelle (Los Angeles, Ca.) in that match.

The Hawks also took a set off the Ramblers in a March 19 matchup in Chicago. Q.U. was led by 12 kills from junior Jarrod Kelso (Hilliard, Ohio).   Kelso and senior Jack Gamache (St. Charles, Mo.) were each named to the All-MIVA squads this past Thursday.

The Hawks are looking for their first conference tournament victory since 2011 when they upset Ball State in the quarterfinals before falling to Loyola in the semifinals. Quincy was the No. 6 seed that season.
