The Honor Guard of the Quincy Police Department, a voluntary organization that provides funeral honors for fallen comrades and serves as the "guardians of the colors" by displaying and escorting the national flag on ceremonial occasions, is in need of funding to upgrade their uniform materials.  Many of the clothing and equipment used on their details has to be purchased through donations to the Police Benevolent Association.  They are in need of duty belts, holster, magazine pouch and belt keepers.  Also, the flags and poles used during the presentation of colors are worn, and the poles are mismatched.

Anyone interested in donating to this honorable cause can do so by contacting Officer Randy Wheeler at 217-228-4475.
