The 26th Annual "Showcase of Excellence" will take place this Saturday at Quincy Senior High School. The "Showcase of Excellence" competition attracts high school jazz bands and show choirs from across the region to showcase their musical talents. The public is invited to enjoy a day full of performances this Saturday, March 10. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for students. Visitors will enjoy performances by talented jazz bands in the gym and show choirs in the Q.H.S. Theatre.

The day will culminate with awards and a grand finale with performances by the Q.H.S. Jazz band and Show Choir. All proceeds from the event support music education at all grade levels in the Quincy Public School District.

For more information, call the Q.H.S. Music Department at 217-224-3774.

Dan Sherman, longtime director of the Q.H.S. Music Department and now retired, is still very much a part of this event. He stopped by the Y101 Studio this week to talk with Jeff Dorsey on the Y101 Morning Show.
