Once again, the Quincy Park District is looking for public input into an idea suggested by Westview Golf Professional Matt Burry. Burry would like to see the last nine holes of the 27-hole Westview Golf Course be eliminated as it is and turned into a Par 3 course with a driving range.

Burry feels one of the biggest complaints, according to a recent Quincy Herald Whig report, is that golfers have only a putting green to utilize prior to beginning their play on the course. Burry feels those golfers would be better suited to have a driving range available to them before they head to the first tee.

The Park District is estimating that they would turn a profit of $75,000 a year from Burry's plan. The Park District did send out a survey to it's season pass holders for their input and the reaction from the responses has been mixed. The Park District is also planning on holding a special meeting in May to discuss the idea further.

Westview opened for play in 1949 and expanded to 27 holes in 1963.  Feel free to let the Park District know what your thoughts are regarding the possible changes to Westview Golf Course.
