The investigation into the robbery at RCS Bank in Hannibal reveals the suspect in custody had told his brother of his intentions.

In a probable cause statement, Hannibal Police say 30-year-old Jacob Wilson told his brother Wednesday morning that he planned to rob a bank around lunchtime.

Wilson allegedly entered RCS Bank on Veterans Road at 12:34 p.m. and showed the teller a note demanding money. The note stated Wilson had a gun, but no gun was displayed.

Witnesses saw Wilson leave the bank on foot, get into a car and drive away.

Wilson and his brother then reportedly drove to Quincy, made a purchase and threw away the clothes Wilson had been wearing.

The police investigation led authorities to search the home of Wilson’s mother on Ledbetter Place, where Jacob Wilson was taken into custody.
