Water in Hannibal has been a hot topic of discussion for months now, and it look like things are worse than we thought…at least according to one area Pokemon hunter.
While exploring the city in search of Pokemon Go characters, gamer Shana Hummel of Hannibal captured the following and shared to a Hannibal-centric Facebook group…

THE WATER IS KILLING POKEMON!! Pokemen? Pokemons? I literally have no idea how to pluralize that.

The photo, taken at the fountain near the riverboat in downtown, features an orange Pokemon known as Magikarp (#129) or “Fish Pokemon” on its side and looking somewhat less than active.

According to Wikipedia, “Magikarp is found in many bodies of water, especially lakes, rivers, and ponds.”

Pokemon Go is an augmented reality game played on a cell phone that has swept the nation in popularity since its release on July 6. Despite controversies and inherent dangers in playing the game, Pokemon Go has an estimated 21 million active users in the United States.
