The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce announced Saturday that Paws At Home will be awarded $10,000 as the winner of the Chamber’s 2014 Business Plan Competition.

Paws at Home is owned by Dr. Kristin Kanoy Spear and husband, Will Spear.  The new company is a “mobile veterinary clinic,” providing house calls to pet owners who have a difficult time getting their cats and dogs to the vet. The Chamber’s award will help the company with its start-up costs and advertising.

This is the third year for the Business Plan Competition, which is designed to foster new business initiatives and business expansions in Adams County. Contestants were judged on concept and innovation, viability, economic impact and an oral presentation.
