As the new school year approaches there will be three new schools that will be occupied this year as well. One of them is the Colonel George Iles Elementary School. On Saturday, August 4, at 10:30 a.m., Quincy Public Schools will host a building dedication ceremony to commemorate the opening of the Iles Elementary School located at 3111 N. 12th Street. Iles Elementary is the second of five new K-5 elementary schools to open following the 2014 School Building Referendum.

The ceremony will include words from QPS officials and administrators, Mayor Kyle Moore, and members of Col. Iles family who will travel to Quincy for the event. Immediately following the dedication ceremony,  all attendees can participate in the open house by roaming  the halls, visiting classrooms, asking questions, and enjoy the new community school.

All members of the community are invited.
