Thanks in large part to Princess Ariel, many little girls dream of becoming mermaid. Some even long to have a fish best friend and a Jamaican crab to follow them around (okay, maybe that was just me). In any case, your little ones' mermaid dreams are about to come true thanks to an upcoming event in Hannibal. The Hannibal Parks & Recreation will be hosting mermaid classes this summer! That's right, mermaid classes! Classes are slated for June 25-29 and if you don't have your own mermaid tail, there will be tail available to rent or you can purchase a mermaid tail at the Hannibal Aquatic Center.

Mermaid classes last around 45 minutes, during which your aspiring Ariel will learn techniques like fluke splashes, core rolls, and synchronized swimming skills. Students must be at least six years of age and all students must be able to swim in shallow water without assistance.

If your children are obsessed with the movie The Little Mermaid, these classes are just what they need to find their inner Ariel. For more information, visit the Hannibal Parks & Recreation Facebook page or website.
