Memorial Lantern Release & Ceremony May 17 at Nipper Park [Interview]

The James O’Donnell Funeral Home hosts the 5th annual Memorial Lantern Release and Ceremony at Nipper Park on the Hannibal riverfront Saturday, May 17.

The lantern release was begun to give everyone a chance to remember their loved ones. Free lanterns are available, which can be decorated, any way you like, and then released on the Mississippi River.

Lantern pickup and decoration begins at 7 p.m. There will be a brief ceremony at 8 p.m. with Rev. Tim Goodman, American Legion Post 55 and musician Seth Wade.

O’Donnell’s reminds folks that this is not just for families that have done business with O’Donnell Funeral Home, and not just for folks from Hannibal.
