National Weather Service forecasters say the Memorial Day weekend could be a wet one in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

Friday is expected to be okay, with sunshine and a high of 76 predicted. Clouds will move into the area Friday night and Saturday, with lows of 55 and a high of 74 Saturday.

The chance for showers and thunderstorms moves into the region Saturday night, with a better chance of occasional precip Sunday. Sunday night should be rainy as well, with a 50 percent chance of rain Memorial Day Monday.

Temperatures for the weekend will top out in the upper 70s. The chance of rain will ease up Monday night, but the possibility of rain remains in the forecast through Thursday.
