(Hannibal)—Hannibal Police have not released details regarding a manhunt in the Palmyra Road area this afternoon that resulted in the lockdown of Hannibal Middle and High Schools.

A number of officers converged on the area, resulting in the precautionary measures being implemented at the nearby schools. Superintendent Dr. Jill Janes says it wasn't too long until the “all clear” was given.

The lockdown was lifted shortly after 2 p.m., after officers reportedly took a suspect into custody.  We’ll have more on this story as details are made available.
