Madonna House in Quincy Plans Fundraiser in October

The Shine Event will take place in Quincy on October 16 from 7:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the Quincy Art Center. This fundraising event is designed to bring awareness to the work of the staff and the board of the Madonna House, and shed light on goodness happening in our community. Several highlights are scheduled for the evening, including a video premiere, award presentation, and Pay it Forward contest.

During the Shine Event, the Board of Directors for the Madonna House will award one Good Samaritan with their Shine Award. The winner will be selected from nominees submitted through October 3.

Giving Goodness: A Pay It Forward Contest is an opportunity for groups to organize into teams of six and perform random acts of kindness. Teams must register by Oct. 3. Teams will have from Oct. 3 through Oct. 15 to perform acts of kindness and document their team efforts by photo. The event on Oct. 16 will highlight all of the wonderful things done by teams and will recognize the winning team.

The Shine Event will also feature a video premiere of “Grow, Thrive and Become Stronger” a testimonial video highlighting success stories of former Madonna House residents. Introducing the video will be a former Madonna House resident, who is also featured in the video.
