The seventh season of Music Under the Stars, the Mark Twain Boyhood Home and Museum-sponsored free summer concert series, continues on June 13 with Lyal Strickland. Strickland is an acoustic performer from the Springfield, Mo. area. He travels throughout the Midwest playing Americana and folk music.
A singer, songwriter, and farmer born, raised, and living in the Missouri Ozarks, Lyal Strickland balances songwriting, touring, and raising grass-fed beef. Writing about too much rain and not enough of it, economic upturns and downturns and the intricacies of small town culture, his songs come straight from the heart with a heavy dose of reality." lyalstrickland.com
The performance begins at 7 p.m. in front of the Boyhood Home. Chocolaterie Stam will be selling gelato, hot dogs, and chips. Main Street Wine Stoppe will sell assorted drinks. Each week there will be a free drawing for a Music Under the Stars t-shirt. Guests are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs to the event.
