Louisiana Business Celebrates 1 Million Donuts
Donuts are delicious. There aren’t many people in the world that don’t like them. Most of us eat too many of them. One local business is celebrating a unique accomplishment. Daybreak Donuts & Diner in Louisiana is celebrating its one millionth donut!
The distinguished pastry was produced on Wednesday night. Daybreak owner Shaun Ross estimates that it took approximately 100,000 pounds of flour, about 1/3 of that amount of sugar, and around six-and-a-half years to reach the one million donut mark. Daybreak opened on July 4, 2006.
Ross says that the one millionth donut was delivered to a friend, Kevin Tarpein, who has been in the hospital.
Daybreak Donuts & Diner is owned by Shaun Ross and partner Marianne Spears. The eatery can be found at 121 Georgia Street in Louisiana. Besides donuts, the business also serves a full service breakfast, extreme omelettes, marinated pork loin chops, hand-cut steaks, and other menu items. Daybreak Donuts & Diner is also in the process of renovating a building next door for additional space.
